There are many people in the world who seem to have gotten trapped into poverty. These are people who seem to be totally unable to overcome poverty: often leading to a situation where some of them start thinking that their circumstances are due to spiritual causes. Looking at their various personal situations objectively though, and without dismissing any other viewpoints, you tend to see certain logical things that make it impossible for the people in question to overcome poverty.
One thing that makes it impossible for people to overcome poverty is lack of marketable skills. This could be due to lack of education, or due to lack of vocational training.
Another thing that makes it impossible for people to overcome poverty is lack of employment opportunities. Here, we can have folks who have good skills but who lack access to employment opportunities. You have to understand that the rest of the world is not like the United States, where one is always able to venture into a Burger King outlet or into a Walmart and get an hourly job at short notice. There are places in the world where there is real unemployment.
Yet another thing that makes it impossible for people to overcome poverty is poor habits. This is where you have people who have good marketable skills, and who indeed have access to proper employment. However, due to poor spending habits, or due to other long-established habits, it becomes impossible for them to overcome poverty. There are also cases where people who are born into poverty actually ‘adapt’ to poverty. Then it becomes impossible for them to overcome poverty, because the effort required to overcome the poverty is far greater than the effort required to ‘cope’ with the poverty.
